Our Newest Creative Collaboration: Oma & Margaux Kent

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

So during these very slow and not to mention rather dreary cold winter months, it appears that everyone is at home wrapped in a snuggie with cocoa instead of pounding the pavement and shopping. We decided it was best to focus our retail energies back on our Etsy shop for a while, at least until the weather changes and people are back out on the streets again.

That being said, a very dear friend of the shop, Margaux Kent – without whom we probably wouldn’t have had the balls to open in the first place – had the idea of working together once a week to photograph items for both of our Etsy shoppes. Margaux runs a few Etsy shops now – count them, three! – on her own and with her husband Walter.

She makes jewelry and journals out of antique leather for The Black Spot Books, sells vintage and knick knacks on Plundered, and in collaboration with her hubby sells wooden housewares on Peg & Awl. Whew. That’s not to mention Walter’s Wandering shop, where you can buy his gorgeous one-of-a-kind DaVinci-esque portraits and illustrations for a steal.

Margaux and I have been meeting every Tuesday and besides gabbing for a few hours, we manage to squeeze in some really productive time taking pictures for our sites. It’s definitely been a bright spot here at Oma while we count down those days until Spring.

Have a look at her shops and the new items we’ve been listing daily in our Etsy shop Lollycrisp Vintage.
