Oma is proud to announce our exhibition of works by artist Meredith Hoffheins entitled, “Ad Hoc” this month.

A little about the artist:

Hoffheins was born and raised in the suburban sprawl stricken borough of Hanover, PA- a fact that has greatly informed the content of her work. She received her BA in Studio Art from Messiah College and will be attending Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY to earn a Masters in Fine Arts. Her focus in two dimensional studies has included printmaking, works on paper, and mixed media works on panel.

“Ad Hoc” features 10 new pieces. Please join us for the opening party on Friday, May, 21 from 6-9 PM. We will be serving beer and homemade pie by both me and the artist (!!).

Oma is very pleased and very proud to present our first of many short films! The lovely New York filmmaker Diana Ecker shot this little beauty on Super 8 film, to give it that nice vintage feel. It’s all about sunshine and romance and bicycles and typewriters and gumballs and clothes! Have a look!

Oma is quite proud to announce our first ever art exhibition here at the shop. Because we wanted to start things off on the right foot, we’ve chosen the work of illustrator Christopher Browne.

The show, entitled Creatures Great & Small will feature 10 illustrations as well as greeting cards and onesies designed by the artist. Browne’s work focuses on the animal world in the vein of such lovable cartoonists as Herge and E.H Shepherd. His whimsical creations are then wheat-pasted onto rough found objects like metal shelves or wooden scraps creating a context that is truly original.

Oma is pleased and proud to announce its collaboration with NYC film company Ball Deep International for the one-night-only screening of their 16mm feature Blondes in the Jungle.

Blondes in the Jungle follows a wild band of spoiled American teenagers on their romp in the Honduran jungle in hopes of Finding the Fountain of Youth. Do they succeed? You’ll have to come and find out for yourself!

Festivities begin at 9 pm, with $2 beers and wine. General merriment to precede and follow the screening.

Gorgeous new necklaces from Philly based designer Lauren Manoogian are in and we couldn’t be more excited!  Lauren uses paperclips and neon vinyl to make one-of-a-kind beads that she then strings together.  The result?  Eye-dropping statement pieces you’ll never want to take off!

We were so pleased to have a party for all of our friends, both old and new on Friday night. It was a smash hit! Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out! Congrats to our best vintage ensemble contest winners Joe, Margaux and little Soren. You all looked great.
